Thoughts on our 1st race of the year!

Middletonian 5k was last Saturday. This is our 3rd year having this race and every year has been quite a learning experience.

Year 1, Middletonian 2019 was our first race as an official company. We were very new to the industry and stressed over every detail.

Year 2, the Pandemic had just hit and our race fell on the 2nd week of quarantine! Middletonian 2020 was the first virtual race we had ever done and we stressed over every detail.

Year 3, now just emerging from the pandemic Middletonian 2021 is our first race back from the pandemic! And even though we had to start the runners in waves of 10 at a time to limit gathering, somehow this year wasn’t as stressful as the years prior.

In fact this year I saw more smiling faces and more love for running than I had the previous years. Maybe it was because everyone was just happy to be racing again.

Maybe because it was nice to feel a little normalcy.
